Reflected light

I can't remember a time when I was not entranced by colour and light – whether it be reflected, mirrored, refracted…

Light is pure energy!

Colour has been called the ‘suffering of the light’, as it is the result of ‘shattering’ or ‘splitting’ the electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths that can be detected by the human eye.

Colour attaches itself loosely to objects… and we perceive as ‘colour’ only those wavelengths that are not absorbed by the object.

Healthy grass, for example,  absorbs all the colours of the light spectrum – red, orange, yellow, blue and indigo – leaving only the green that we see.

As light is withdrawn and darkness falls on the world, therefore, colour fades  and finally disappears - often dramatically!
